How to Train For A Marathon
I really do enjoy running. But I LOVE races! If you've ever done a race, any distance, even a 5K - you know the exhilarating feeling of crossing the finish line and all the miles before! Hearing the spectators cheer you on, taking in all of the quirky signs people make, gives you such an adrenaline rush and you can't help but feel amazing!
I love this quote from Nike Run Club:
I mean.. Wow right? It doesn't take much to sign up for a race. Like you fill out the form, pay the fee and it's done. But it takes a lot of willpower and strength to commit to training. It's not easy to set your alarm and know that you've got a long 10 miler in the morning. But all those miles are what add up to your greater goal: finishing the race strong!
I'm currently training for my second marathon. My first time around, I finished but I knew I could have trained harder and more consistently. That's why this time I am making my training a priority! Sure, I could put off long runs to sleep in but that's not going to get me to my goal. In the words of Hercules, every mile will be worth your while, so run!
If you're training for a race right now: what gets you inspired to hit the road? Tell me below!
